Carries on the centuries-old tradition of great violin and guitar makers (1600s-style Stradivarius approach) in the form of a T-style guitar. Hollow maple body with center block construction (think ES-335) paired with Sitka spruce top creates complex acoustic resonance and warmth.

Rear-mounted controls eliminate the need for metal control plates, maintaining clean aesthetics. Finished in 1940s Gibson/Kalamazoo-style dark sunburst with all nitro lacquer for authentic vintage look and feel.

Quarter-sawn maple or roasted maple neck with soft V profile. Ebony or rosewood fretboard with bone nut. All aged hardware including vintage-style ashtray bridge and Kluson Supreme tuners (18:1 gear ratio).

Unique pickup pairing combines vintage PAF-style mini humbucker in the neck with 1952-style Tele bridge pickup, offering both warm, singing neck tones and classic twangy bridge bite.

Tortoise half pickguard with matching rear control plate cover completes the vintage aesthetic.

FAQs Answered

Every Black Volt guitar is handcrafted in our Los Angeles workshop. No outsourcing. No overseas factories. Built one at a time, right here.

Three things: reclaimed wood aged 80-100+ years (not fresh-cut lumber), hand-crafted one at a time (not factory production), and custom shop quality at every price point. Every guitar is signed by Gio and comes with his direct number.

Wood salvaged from old barns, buildings, and structures built in the 1940s-1960s. This wood has been drying naturally for decades—sometimes over a century. It's more stable than fresh-cut wood and resonates differently. Richer tone, better sustain.

Fresh wood needs time to dry and stabilize. Our reclaimed wood has already been through 80-100+ years of natural drying. It's fully settled. This means better resonance, richer harmonics, and more responsive tone. You can't rush this process.

Absolutely. Choose your body style, neck profile, fretboard, pickups, hardware, and finish. Want custom inlays, binding, or special mods? Call us. We'll make it happen.

Reclaimed pine, ash, mahogany, beech, oak, redwood—depends on what's available. All sourced from structures built 80-100+ years ago. Every piece has unique grain, color, and character.
